Instructor Training 2020
Mid Florida Campus, Orlando
Each summer FADA hosts our annual Florida Automotive Instructors Summer Training Workshop. This event, hosted at the mid Florida campus of Orange Technical College in Orlando, draws automotive instructors from around the state. Plans are for the 2020 summer training and registration will open in a few weeks. Be sure to reserve your spot quickly as space is limited.
Last year’s event served 141 secondary and post-secondary instructors from all parts of Florida representing state colleges, technical colleges, technical centers and high schools. This workshop is a cooperative effort between FADA, the Central Florida Auto Dealers Association, the Florida Department of Education, Southeast Toyota Distributors, BMW, Honda, Ford, Chrysler, ACDelco, Snap-on Tools, Hunter Engineering, ProCut, Consulab, ATech/Learning Labs, Gates International, CDX Automotive, Matco Tools, SnapAuto, ASE, Goodheart Willcox and Electude to provide automotive instructors with advanced training.
The training is open to all Florida automotive instructors and is conducted by industry trainers. This training satisfies NATEF (National Automotive Technicians Education Foundations) and AYES (Automotive Youth Education Systems) continuing education requirements.
An event like this is a great opportunity to impact student outcomes on a large scale. By training the trainer, we help better prepare entry level techniciana to seek employment in Florida dealerships. In this way, these instructors will touch thousands of Florida families in the coming years. We are looking forward to another great training program for the summer of 2020.
