Online Sales Increased in June

The Census Bureau reported that retail sales increased 7.5% in June. Online sales in particular have spiked by as much as 19% during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in-store purchases still made up the majority of sales; in June, 84% of sales—totaling more than $524 billion—occurred in traditional brick-and-mortar stores. (more…)

Deadline to Apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loan Is December 31

The Small Business Administration’s Economic Injury Disaster Loans and Advance Program is now open to all eligible small businesses and non-profits impacted by the pandemic. DOL: States Must Ensure Integrity of Unemployment Insurance Programs

The Department of Labor has issued targeted guidance and reminders that provide states required functions for their regular unemployment compensation programs. These include those authorized by Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation, and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, in UIPL 23-20. Americans Want to Own Cars, Especially During a Pandemic
